The What A Room Showroom Experience
The What A Room showroom in San Jose is the Bay Area’s dedicated custom sofa design studio. Unlike a big-box furniture store where every floor model is a fixed SKU, everything here is a live example of what can be built to your exact specifications. Every collection on the floor — from the Alex MCM to the Daphne, Florida, Cradle, Milton, Tiffany, and more — is available to sit in, compare, and customize in person before a single stitch is cut.
Walk-ins are always welcome with no appointment needed. If you want dedicated one-on-one time with our team to map out a full room layout or work through a complex sectional configuration, arriving on a weekday gives you the most uninterrupted access to the team.

What A Room offers free design consultations both in the showroom and virtually via email. During your consultation, a design expert will:
Review your room dimensions and existing furniture layout to recommend the right configuration and size.
Recommend fabric options from our full library, including performance, pet-friendly, and stain-resistant options.
Discuss cushion firmness, seat depth, back height, and leg finish preferences.
Provide a custom quote for your finalized configuration and selected fabric.
Create free 2D and 3D room renderings to help you visualize how the sofa will look in your actual space before production begins.

White-Glove Delivery Across the United States
Every custom sofa and sectional is shipped with white-glove delivery nationwide. What A Room's white-glove service includes:
Scheduled delivery window coordinated directly with your household.
Two-person professional team handling all heavy lifting, stairs, and tight doorways.
Full in-home assembly and placement of your sofa or sectional in your chosen room.
Removal of all packaging materials and foam from your home.
Final placement walkthrough before the team departs.
Every piece is built to order in the USA. Production takes 4-5 weeks from order confirmation. Delivery scheduling begins once your piece clears quality inspection.
Total time from order to sofa in your home is typically 5-7 weeks, depending on your location.
