Sofa Size Guide
To measure a sofa, you need to follow these steps:
1. Measure the length: Measure the distance from the outer edge of one arm to the outer edge of the other arm.
2. Measure the depth: Measure from the backrest to the front edge of the seat cushions.
3. Measure the height: Measure from the floor to the highest point of the backrest.
4. Measure the seat height: Measure from the floor to the top of the seat cushion.
Make sure to write down the measurements accurately so that you can find the right size sofa for your space.

Custom Sofa Cushion Firmness
- Soft: A soft foam seat cushion is comfortable and versatile to provide support and relief during extended periods of sitting. Crafted from high-quality, plush foam material, this cushion gently contours to the shape of your body and may help reduce pressure on key pressure points. The experience is akin to sitting "in" the cushion rather than merely "on" it.
- Medium: Between plush and firm, medium seats strike a balance between contour and support. Built with cushioning made to give just a tad as you sit, the medium level doesn't keep you too upright – but also doesn't let you sink too far down.
- Firm: The seats provide a supportive feel that aids in maintaining a neutral posture while seated. This attribute is advantageous for individuals with back issues or those who prefer a solid and stable sensation. Opting for a firm seat cushion transforms the experience from sitting in the sofa to sitting on it. This technology mirrors the firm options available in many mattress foams, catering to individuals who seek higher levels of support. Therefore, choosing a firm seat ensures a denser surface for your seating comfort.

Trillium: A premium down-alternative fill designed to deliver the same plush, sink-in comfort as natural down—but without any of the drawbacks. Made from high-quality, ultra-fine synthetic fibers, trillium offers a soft, luxurious and lived-in look, while providing better durability and support.
Unlike traditional down, trillium won’t clump, flatten, or require constant fluffing. It’s also hypoallergenic, making it a great choice for those with sensitivities to feathers or allergens. Whereas with down, feathers will pop out over time. Trillium-filled cushions are easier to maintain and hold their structure longer, giving you that cozy, cloud-like feel with less effort.

The Davis bumper sectional applies some modern creativity to the skinny armrest by adding a moveable cushion for both style & comfort. This sectional features a practical bumper panel, enhancing both seating capacity and comfort.
Number of seat cushions & back pillows can be customized upon request and sofa size.

- Shipping costs: $199 to $299
- Shipping time is approximately 7-10 business days, Mon–Fri and during daytime hours.

- An adult (18 years or older) must be present to accept delivery. Signature is required.

Returns & Exchanges
Returns
We strive to exceed your expectations. If you’re unhappy with what you’ve received, we accept returns within 60 days of delivery on custom furniture that is in new or like-new condition.
Upon return, your merchandise will be inspected & appropriate credits and/or refunds taken from the subtotal will be issued for the item(s) as well as any taxes due in accordance with state law. Returns on custom furniture pieces are subject to a 20% restocking fee. Initial delivery fee paid at the time of purchase will be forfeit. We’re happy to help you pick up the item from your home, but you will be subject to a pick up fee.
What a Room reserves the right to refuse returns of items that are not in new or like-new condition due to damage/misuse by the customer; this includes scratches, stains, and alterations. Please keep in mind that minor variances in size and shape may occur, as our custom products are handmade to order. We do not accept returns on one-off Special Orders; these are pieces with modification requests past our website offerings and/or use COM fabrics.
Exchanges
We accept exchanges on custom furniture if it becomes damaged upon delivery as long as it’s reported within 72 hours from the day the order is received. We accept exchanges within 60 days if the piece has a manufacturer defect. To request an exchange or address damage, please file a claim. A team member will be in touch within 24 to 48 hours.
Changes & Cancellations
Any requests to cancel or changes made to custom pieces will require communication within 72 hours of confirming the order to avoid fees. Changes/cancellations requested after the 72 hour window will be subject to a 10% cancelation fee. Changes/cancellations requested after a 7 day period will be subject to the 20% restocking fee.

Exceptional Cushion Quality
At What A Room, we use 2.5 lb High Resilient (HR) foam core for our seat cushions, a high-quality material often used in commercial-grade furniture. This is unlike the cheaper 1.5-2.0 lb foam found in many mass-produced sofas, making ours much more durable. Our foam can handle weight and pressure, staying in shape for over 10 years, which is much longer than the 3-7 years offered by other brands. Our goal is to deliver the most long-lasting cushions without losing out on comfort. You can pick how firm you want your seat cushion, all of which use a 2.5 lb HR foam core and are wrapped in Dacron or Down Feather for extra comfort and support.
In additional all our foams are CertiPUR-US® certified poly foam which is made without any harmful chemicals like ozone depleters, PBDE flame retardants, mercury, lead, heavy metals, formaldehyde, and phthalates.

Our frames are made with kiln-dried, solid wood that provides for exceptionally sturdy, long-lasting furniture pieces. Our frames are joined with corner blocks, ensuring extra lifespan & durability. All frames are backed by our limited lifetime frame warranty, applicable to the original owner and original delivery address only.
The kiln-drying process prevents frame warping and mildew in humid climates. Most of our sofas are designed with a “pitch”. This is a slight angle in the seat and/or back which allows you to comfortably sit back and almost sink into the sofa.
In additional all our foams are CertiPUR-US® certified poly foam which is made without any harmful chemicals like ozone depleters, PBDE flame retardants, mercury, lead, heavy metals, formaldehyde, and phthalates.

ARE THESE PRODUCTS TRULY 100% MADE IN THE USA?
Absolutely. Every single custom sofa & sectionals, framing & suspension that we make is manufactured in California, USA. Certain materials and components are sourced from outside of the United States as needed.
WHAT IS THE LEAD TIME?
Production takes 4-6 weeks. Once an item is packaged customers will get an automated message with a tracking number.
ARE THE PICTURES ONLINE ACCURATE? WILL THE COLORS AND STYLES LOOK THE SAME WHEN I GET MY CUSTOM INTO MY HOME?
We are constantly improving our representation of custom products on our website. That said, every monitor and display could have slight variations for color. We recommend you ordering free fabric samples to visualize the color in your home's lighting through the day and night time.

Dog & Cat Friendly Fabrics
The following patterns are fabrics that we believe will be best if you have a cat. However, we advise you to order fabric samples to ensure they will be compatible with your cat.

Here some tips to keep in mind:
- Avoid light fabrics: These tend to show spills, stains and drool marks the most.
- Match the fabric to your pet's fur.
While we cherish our feline companions, cat claws have a distinctive ability to damage even the toughest materials, including wood. Our fabrics are designed to endure heavy use thanks to their high rub count. However, if your cat treats the sofa as a scratching post, it is likely to suffer damage because of the sharpness of their claws. We strongly recommend that cat owners discourage their cats from scratching the sofa or using it as a scratching post.
Fabric Care Guide
In general, we recommend promptly treating spots and stains, and avoiding excessive rubbing or brushing. If your fabric can be cleaned using water, upholstery steam cleaners can work magic. If spot cleaning with water, we recommend wetting larger areas in order to avoid the possibility of water stains. Finally, while some fabrics are machine washable, we recommend hand washing or spot treating whenever possible to avoid wear and the possibility of slight shrinkage.
- Cleaning (W) Code Fabrics
A "W" indicates that your piece can be cleaned with water. This means you're safe to use an upholstery/carpet cleaner on your spill or stain. - Cleaning (S) Code Fabrics
An "S" indicates that your piece needs to be cleaned with cleaning solvents (dry clean only) and will not react well if water is applied to it. Spot cleaning is only advised if the product is meant for home dry cleaning use. Make sure that after using a product of this nature to use a blow dryer to dry the spot so it doesn't leave a ring! Stains, spills or dirt in general should be cleaned as soon as possible to retain the longevity of the colors and the fabric. - Cleaning (W/S) Code Fabrics
A "W/S" indicates that you can use either dry cleaning solvents or water with mild hand soap for cleaning. Clean spots as soon as possible before they have a chance to set in.

This couch is exceptional! I splurged on this couch after never having owned anything but used furniture and I couldn’t be happier. It fits our room and my family (including our two dogs and a cat) perfectly! I did a lot of research on couches. It took me months to pick this couch/company and I couldn’t be happier. It was very important for us to have a couch with zippable cushion covers that could withstand pet messes and spills. This couch/company met all of my needs and they were very communicative concerning our fabric choices and exact specs. I loved that this couch was fully customizable down to the exact inches of the seats, length of the chaise, and firmness of the cushions. We opted for the firm cushions because we wanted more back support and our dogs will inevitably soften them over time. The cushions are certainly firm but it’s exactly what we wanted and still very comfortable. I could not be happier with this couch and it’s clearly very high quality and will last years! It’s certainly expensive, but if it’s in your budget, I would recommend this company in a heartbeat!

Many months later: I could not have been happier with the options, ease of order, delivery, quality, comfort, style, durability and timelessness of design. It is more money but customizing your own furniture is an awesome experience! You choose exact size, depth, fabric, etc. The little details that are lost on an assembly line sofa made for mass market. I 1000% will always purchase from what a room in the future. Thank you for an amazing experience. This lifted my spirits after a major flood in my home and being ripped off by remediation "contractors" in the recovery process.
